Chanel's New Minimalist Skin-care Trio

When it comes to packing for a mid-summer escape, you may find yourself faced with the following beauty dilemma: Will you leave your favorite arsenal of high-tech treatment serums, day lotions, night creams, and eye gels behind—or resign yourself to lugging along one heavy, hold-everything makeup case? This season, Chanel introduces a chic new trio of products that promises to render the question obsolete: Aimed at pressing the reset button on a dull, stressed-out, or overtired complexion, the company’s Resynchronizing Skincare set consists of three straightforward face serums with names to match. From Monday through Friday, you can alternate between Le Jour de Chanel (a lightweight tonic that energizes sluggish skin cells with jasmine extract and exfoliates pores with salicylic acid) and La Nuit de Chanel (a slightly heavier fluid that moisturizes with hyaluronic acid and soothes with frankincense extract to optimize overnight repair). On Saturdays and Sundays, the company’s Le Weekend de Chanel provides a restorative dose of calming rose water and skin softening glycolic acid instead. Each bottle measures 1.7 ounces in size, meaning they can be tossed easily into a favorite Louis Vuitton travel bag or Valextra carry-on. Worn alone, or with a layer of your favorite sunscreen on top, they promise to restore skin to its healthiest, most balanced state—much, that is, like a week of sand and sea itself.
